My boys
Today was the day I was looking forward to the most: the trip back to San Gabriel to see my boys. Some of the boys from San Gabriel had also been moved to another orphanage called Eliza Martinez, and we were able to visit this orphanage which opened in May. I was so excited to walk into Eliza Martinez this morning, knowing that some of my boys were there…and there they were: Tito, Ambrosio, Miguel, Marcos, Humberto, Mario, Jose, Herman. I took some photos from our last trip and shared them with some of the boys, reminding them about the trip in April and telling them that I was so glad to see them again.
We did some coloring with the kids and when that got boring, there was an arm-wrestling contest and a push-up contest. I played ball with some kids in the patio area and took a lot of photos of the kids, which they love. It was good to see them again and spend time hugging them and smiling with them and loving them. It’s also good to be recognized and to feel as if they maybe realize that someone thinks they are important and valuable and worthy.
This is the arm-wrestling contest. Scot and Nate took on the orphans. Clearly, a fair fight.
